I am having withdrawals. So, am I an addict?

I regularly peruse a few different sites which might be called 'conspiracy websites', in my search for the Truth. Actually, I don't know if the word 'truth' is as accurate as maybe just looking for a handful of puzzle pieces to add to the huge, mostly incomplete, picture of the world in which I live, struggle and occasionally shudder.

Thing is, my favorite site -- the Center for an Informed America -- is presently unavailable, due to the bandwidth allocation being exceeded. (or so the error message says) So, with being locked out of my favorite site, and nothing new on any of the other ones that I regularly visit for my 'Reality fix', I am seriously thinking I have become addicted to the Truth.

I suppose there are worse things to be hooked on. I guess I'll just up the dose on my anxiety meds.

Bewitched, Bothered & Bewildered

Great title for a song, don't you think? Sorry, I just couldn't resist. I probably could have just put Freaked Out, for a blog title, but this one felt pretty accurate. In this very superstitious and demon-haunted world, I think we're all a little bewitched. The rest is maybe understatement, although bewildered is on the money, since all of us are probably punch drunk from the constant barrage of "news" we get slapped in our faces.

I've tried to avoid the moment-to-moment media blitz in my life, but it's pretty much impossible unless one locks themselves in a dark room and stays there. It's all propaganda and it's all phony. Or as George Carlin put it, "It's all bullshit and it's bad for ya."

So, lately I've been searching the Internet for alternative news and information. It's an art which requires some ability to filter out the usual crap and can be very tedious. It's easy for me to just go to sleep on my feet, so to speak, when I have to concentrate that hard on something as mundane as getting accurate information. Sad, but it's true. I shall try to make my main point now.

If you ever found yourself looking for information on the multiple manned flights to the moon, you probably have found quite a bit of doubters and even more of the alternate opinions, commonly called "hoax-debunkers". For a long time, I just looked at the debunkers' stuff, since I felt I had enough information from the "hoax" crowd. At the time, unbeknown to me, I was just looking for confirmation of my preset beliefs, and not really entertaining any critical thinking. I guess that is due to some of the "numbness" that I alluded to early in this post. At the time, it seemed the easy way to answer some questions I had.

Recently, I went to one of my favorite "conspiracy theorist" sites (a term that is designed to discredit certain thinking people in a preemptive way) and noticed that the site owner had just begun a new series of posts about the very subject of the moon landings. I have always enjoyed the sarcastic, but well documented, postings by this fellow and was easily drawn right into his arguments for believing the moon trips to be a tremendous hoax. Actually, although his arguments are very compelling, it is more the ability to employ logic and critical thinking that seals the deal for me. I invite you to read his series for yourself, starting at: www.davesweb.cnchost.com/apollo1.html.

This is one of his ongoing commentaries, and it appears there will be more to come. I can't wait for his next post.

Bless you!

The more I investigate my upbringing, and that of my peers and kin, the more diabolical (and I have to use that word with my tongue firmly in my cheek) I see religion to be.

Particularly now, around the Holidays, it's a time where 'blessings' and such are heard constantly, and from a variety of sources--some of which are surprising. There are some genuine killers out there busying themselves with blessing this person and that, while they are shooting others. I guess their "God" is okay with those seeming anomalies. Actually, they report that "God" told them who is for blessing and who is for killing. By what means does one actually discern where this voice or urging comes from?

My answer to that question? It's a closed loop form of indoctrination, that's been honed for generations and runs extremely deep in the psyche of most people on the Earth. Problem is, at least in terms of being at peace with one's neighbors, that there are literally hundreds (or maybe thousands) of versions of religious brainwashing on the Earth, and many of them seriously conflict. So much for religion helping to encourage brotherly love.

I have noticed one thing, though, about the effect of this huge variety of conflicting indoctrination, all taught in the name of a loving God: It sure works for those who make money on wars and armed conflicts. Gee, I wonder if there's a connection...

Am I here all alone?

I think that was a line used in a tune by Bob Dylan, quite a while ago. It is appropriate for this first blog, in that I feel as if the like-minded thinkers are only in cyberspace, and unable to be contacted for an in-person meeting.

As a child I had many terrifying nightmares, usually involving sinister figures in trenchcoats and pulled-down hats visiting my bedroom. The "boogey-man" had nothing on these guys; they chilled my blood and caused my little heart to race. Later, my nightmares involved buildings falling down in the city and aircraft falling from the sky, with me running for all I was worth away from the cascading catastrophe. Still later, as I grew to a young man in the USA, I dreamed of being shuttled from my cell to school and back to my cell at night. That particular dream morphed into a "cell to work and back" nightmare, which brings me to the point of this blog.

How "free" are we? Does anyone notice what is happening to this world? Any savior, in the form of a country, was circumvented when America went to the 'Dark Side of The Force' around the time of the control of currency being put into the hands of "The Fed", as far as I can see it. The continued atrocities, in the form of the murdering of both Presidents and citizens in full view of humanity, confirm my worst fears and the nightmares of my past.

I offer a link now, to one great thinker I read regularly. I don't know how he keeps from being assassinated, but for now his website remains online for all the world to see. If you can keep an open mind long enough to peruse some of his posts, you will likely become one of those 'like minds' which I spoke of earlier. Here is the link: http://www.davesweb.cnchost.com

Let me know what you think.
